Spiritual Birthsenses

About me

I always wanted to be a midwife.

Coming from a large family, I’ve always felt very close to babies.

After graduating in nursing, life took me on a long diversions through intensive care, cardiology, emergency and paediatrics as an interim nurse. I don’t think there’s a department in which I haven’t worked even a single night, as I’ve always preferred night work in hospital.

These 10 years of hospital work have taught me to care with all my heart, even if my heart has sometimes seemed small in certain circumstances. In care, it’s not possible or even desirable to go beyond your limits.

At the age of 32, I was finally able to start my midwifery studies. I had to learn Dutch, as there was no place for me in French-speaking schools.

My school offered a flexible timetable for workers and the possibility of choosing my training sites. It was a great experience!

After a month in Cayenne in French Guiana in 2014, I left at the end of 2016 to train my clinical skills in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where I spent 4 months in the delivery room at the Central Hospital.

It was the most intense experience of my life and also the most formative period of my life, the fruits of which I’m sure I’ll reap for the rest of my life.

This experience gave me confidence in birth, showed me the strength of women and the resilience of babies.

Today, my ambition is to share my knowledge with women, couples and families so that they can live the whole experience of welcoming a child with joy and comfort, in the full power of their responsibility.
